BMS/CCS Control Panel

At the heart of combustion safety is the Burner Management System (BMS) and Combustion Control System (CCS).  Both systems, though separate, work together to ensure that your combustion equipment is working efficiently and safely.  EPI&C can provide a standard panel and configuration or a customized system; whether it be for a single burner or multi-burner.  The single burner systems can be provided with microprocessor based integrated burner control or PLC based.  In either case, we can provide an expertly designed dependable and reliable solution.

Our Burner Management Systems (BMS) are designed to AS 3814, CSA B149.3, EN 298, IEC 61508, IEC61511, ISA 84.00.01, ISO 13577, NFPA 85, NFPA 86, or NFPA 87 standards.  Depending on facility requirements we can provide standard PLC based systems or Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to meet upto SIL 3 requirements per IEC 61058 and IEC 61511.  Our engineers work with client’s Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) to ensure requirements are met and; where required, will provide a SIL verification report for our system.  Our systems can be supplied with various safety and non-safety rated PLC’s from ABB, Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, and Yokogawa.

Our Combustion Control Systems (CCS) are configured to provide optimized fuel efficiency.  Various air/fuel control strategies are preconfigured in the system and selected based on instrumentation provided with the fired equipment.  The system is designed such that configuration and tuning is easily performed via the HMI.  These features provide cost savings and environmental benefits via reduced fuel usage.  The ease of configuration and operation allows facility personnel to spend their valuable time other urgent matters.

The BMS and CCS systems can be provided together in a common control panel or separately as standalone systems.  The panels are supplied fully configured in freestanding or wall mounted cabinets for indoor or outdoor installation to NEMA and IP specifications.  When supplied with our fuel gas skids the systems are fully installed and tested as a complete unit, greatly reducing construction requirements.  The panels can also be designed and certified for installation in hazardous areas to CSA, NEC, ATEX, or IECex requirements.
